Kristen and Wendy met at church in Dallas 25+ years ago and became fast friends... Kristen introduced Wendy to her cousin - Brad, whom Wendy later married - and the best friends became cousins. Two years later, Kristen became an Aunt KK to baby Olivia!
One day, Kristen began searching for a luxurious dog bed for her fur babies. Not just any bed, of course, but one that matched her perfectly appointed living room and blended well with her custom draperies and upholstery. There was nothing to be found, so she had to design it herself. That's when Kristen called Wendy and said, "I have an idea to create a line of custom dog beds for beautifully decorated homes, are you in?" "I'm in," said Wendy! And, that's the genesis of Sophie D.
But who are Sophie and D? Sophie D represents two very special dogs.... Kristen's maltipoo, Sophie, and Wendy's labrador, Dasie, both of whom are in heaven and still loved.

The Inspiration
The idea for Sophie D began when Kristen was searching for a luxurious dog bed that would complement her elegantly appointed living room. Frustrated by the lack of stylish options, she decided to design her own. Excited by the challenge, Kristen called Wendy and proposed starting a line of custom dog beds for beautifully decorated homes. Wendy enthusiastically agreed, and thus, Sophie D was born.
Who Are Sophie and D?
Sophie D is named in honor of Kristen’s beloved Maltipoo, Sophie, and Wendy’s cherished Labrador, Dasie, who are now in heaven but remain close to our hearts.
